Atlanta Real Estate Market Update for Summer 2014
Welcome back, everyone. Today we wanted to take a moment to give you a brief update on what is happening in the real estate market here in Atlanta. Here is what's going on.
- In Atlanta, we are currently in a seller's market. Home values are up 14% from last year and we are suffering from a lack of inventory. There are many more buyers than sellers and we are looking for more listing opportunities
- The imbalance of the market is great for sellers currently on the market. It has been affecting buyers in a way that hasn't been conducive to looking because there is just not enough inventory out there
- Buyers paying in cash are in a position to beat out other buyers for a property. We are seeing a lot of multiple offer situations and the cash buyer always rules.
- In the current environment, it is important to make your best offer first. Even though there may not be any offers on the table, a better one could come in while you are negotiating.
- Currently, you can get a 30-yr mortgage with an outstanding 4.25% interest rate. There has been no federal indication that rates will be raised significantly in the next year.
